Highlights of the Toronto life for Mr. Mistica
Born and raised in Toronto, Mr. Mistica grew fond of the many sides of Toronto very fast. While growing up in the area of Etobicoke, downtown Toronto and its many neighbourhoods were all within an hour subway ride. These photos seek to portray what life is like in Toronto through his eyes, while showing what he loves about the city of his birth.
Taken in the midst of Toronto winter, this building is one of the many in Toronto's financial district. The sepia tones mixed with the modern cars create a balance between old and new while showing the two things I love the most, business and photography.
An unavoidable thing in Toronto life would be subway waiting. As one of the most simple subway lines in major cities, Toronto travel times are huge and the dreary rides are occupied with people reading books, people chatting with friends and colleagues as they go home from a hard day's work, and people who just stare off into distance thinking about their lives as the subway stops pass by one by one.
After working in the coffee business for many years, the art of espresso and coffee making has grown to be a passion of mine. Combining my love for business, coffee, and photography, I started a blog to comment on the growing market of independent coffee shops in Toronto. This photo, taken at Crema located in The Junction neighbourhood, shows off their latte art which I have also started to do myself.
Being an active member of the business community requires more then just working 9-5. Because photography and business have been a common interest in my life, I try combining the two by volunteering my photography services for events I believe in. For Social Media Week 2012, I photograph'd the Health Health Care Social Media TweetUp, and managed the make the Top 12 list for Top Shots of SMW12. Amazing to see different industries embracing social media!
